Projection signage experts, Projected Image, have helped to improve safety at Mercedes-Benz production facilities with their innovative LED projected safety signage.

The global car and commercial vehicle manufacturer reached out to Projected Image to enhance their health and safety signage for their UK sites.

Newcastle-based Projected Image supply LED projectors that shine bright safety signs onto surfaces. The displayed image can be customised with different messages by replacing the glass optical filter inside, known as a 'gobo'.

Projected Image designed projected safety signs for Mercedes-Benz which are brighter and harder to ignore than traditional printed or painted signs.

“When Mercedes-Benz got in touch, we were delighted to help. We’re incredibly proud to be working with one of the largest motor brands in the world to help improve safety in their factories,” says Ian Spoors, Managing Director of Projected Image.

Projected Image supplies both indoor and outdoor projector units to cater to different lighting conditions and size requirements around manufacturing and warehousing facilities.

The projected signage experts also carry out scaling amendments and ‘keystone correction’ to ensure safety messages project clearly even onto angled surfaces.

“Production facilities in the motor industry encounter numerous day-to-day safety risks, from forklift traffic and spilt fluids, to heavy footfall and sign blindness. However, unlike printed or painted signage, projected signs aren’t as affected by these challenges and can actually help to overcome them,” adds Ian.

In automotive facilities, oils and other vehicle liquids can damage painted or printed signs or even prevent them from adhering to surfaces. However, projected signs continue to shine vividly and clearly even in a low-adhesion environment.

Due to their active brightness, projected safety signs can be shone onto high traffic areas without being overlooked or obscured.

“Downtime due to accidents or maintenance can be expensive in the fast-paced world of automotive manufacturing, so it's no surprise that never-fade, never-wear projected safety signs are becoming a go-to solution for major motor companies. We’re looking forward to working with more leading brands as projected safety signs become the more cost-effective choice for health and safety signage,” finishes Ian.

Projected Image have been a leader in projection technology for 25 years and are the country's only dedicated provider of both LED projectors and the gobo used within them.

Recently, the firm has seen a surge in demand for projected safety signs in the automotive industry and has worked alongside a number of brands to create custom safety signs for their production facilities.

The compact and low-energy LED projectors can be installed by qualified electricians in any commercial or industrial environment.
