On the 22nd of May 2017 the City of Manchester suffered an act of terrorism. Not only the people of the City but across the UK and afar will always remember the loss of 22 lives.
On the 22nd of May 2018, a year on from the bombing Manchester has come together to remember the people affected by this tragic day with an emotional event. The City held a memorial service and mass sing along to honour the victims and show solidarity as a City and nation that included a projection installation called “There is Light”
or the installation, song lyrics were chosen by the general public and projected across St Ann’s square and onto Manchester Cathedral. Working closely with DBNAudile we manufactured the gobos with all the lyrics to help make this great event happen.
The impact music and visuals can have on memory and helping to lift people’s mood can be an amazingly powerful thing. Projecting the lyrics across Manchester Cathedral helps to re-enforce that message and emotion. We are proud to be part of this great event and helping people come together in remembrance.
The lyrics were projected onto the streets of Manchester until the 26th May remembering there is Light!
